Freeport Talke is delighted to announce a new charity partnership with Douglas Macmillan Hospice which will run for the next 18 months.
The stores based at the Freeport Talke were asked which charity they would like to support and DougieMac was a clear favourite. Over the past 5 years, Freeport Talke has already raised in excess of £11,000 for the Blurton based hospice from various fundraising activities including on site activities, Bring a Pound Day, Christmas fundraising, donations of gifts and prizes, themed fundraising days, hosting events and supporting the DougieMac lottery.
Sue Sweatmore, Centre Manager at Freeport Talke said; “We are delighted that Douglas Macmillan Hospice will be returning to Freeport Talke as our next charity partner. Our customers and retail outlets have a strong association with DougieMac and many of us have an association with the care they have provided.
We already have some exciting fundraising activities planned and we’re looking forward to raising as much money as possible for this most deserving local charity”.
Suzi Smith, Head of Corporate Fundraising and Events said; “We would like to thank the management and the tenants from Freeport for choosing DougieMac as their next charity partner. It now costs over £11.8million each year to deliver excellent care to people approaching end of life across North Staffordshire.
We are reliant on the generosity of local people and we are working closely within the local business community to build successful partnerships that benefit the business as well as the charity”.
